QIPCO British Champions Day

This is the ground-breaking event that the QIPCO British Champions Series leads up to, when the eyes of the racing world are focused on Ascot Racecourse for the richest ever day in British racing.

The best horses and jockeys from across the globe will line up to chase a record-breaking £3.75 million in prize money across the final races in each of the five QIPCO British Champions Series categories.

This truly is a raceday like no other, with a packed crowd turning up to witness the sport's best vying to achieve sporting immortality on Ascot's historic turf. There is also a host of extra activity happening on the day and for the first time the first 2000 students to register will get in for free!

The first two years of the British Champions Day were a roaring success, with 2012 epitomising the event as the thrilling finale to the Flat season as Frankel signed off his illustrious and unbeaten record in the QIPCO Champion Stakes. A sell-out crowd of 32,000 - a modern day autumn Flat racing record in the UK - at Ascot that day created an amazing atmosphere with the vast majority of racegoers rating it as their best ever raceday.

There may have been no Frankel in 2013, but the racing was nevertheless sensational with no less than 20 individual Group 1 winners taking part and two of those 20, Olympic Glory and Farhh, took the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and QIPCO Champion Stakes respectively in scintillating and determined style.

Seal Of Approval took the newly-promoted QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares, now the third Group 1 race on the card, while Royal Diamond and Slade Power also emerged triumphant in the QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup and QIPCO British Champions Sprint respectively.

This year the likes of Estimate, Kingman, Australia, The Grey Gatsby, Cirrus des Aigles, Toronado and Brown Panther are set to make British Champions Day 2020 a day to savour, so make sure that you don't miss out on being there!
