Royal Warrant Holders Association

For centuries Royal Warrants of Appointment have been granted by British Monarchs and other Members of the Royal Family to businesses and individuals who supply goods and services to the Royal Households. At present Royal Warrants are granted by HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince of Wales.

The Royal Warrant Holders Association was established in 1840 to represent those who have been granted a Royal Warrant and its main objective is to ensure the continued existence of the Royal Warrant as a treasured and respected institution. Widely regarded as the mark of service, quality and excellence, Royal Warrants are currently held by just over 800 companies and individuals, almost all of which are British based. Royal Warrants are highly prized and proudly displayed.

Every Royal Warrant holder provides not just a service to the Royal Households, but to members of the public too. Visitors to Penhaligon’s London shop can enjoy their walk-in perfume profiling service. Lingerie is bought from Rigby and Peller, hosiery from Leicester’s Wolsey, and outerwear from Burberry or Stewart Parvin. Feet are dressed by Anello & Davide, while Savile Row suits come from Gieves & Hawkes.

It’s not just about clothing. Royal Warrant holders exist is almost every walk of life, from food suppliers such as Fortnum & Mason and Smiths the Bakers in Suffolk, to flags, banners and bunting from Flying Colours Flagmakers.

The biggest event in the Association’s history is the Coronation Festival of July 2013, held to mark the 60th anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation. During the four-day Festival in the Gardens of Buckingham Palace, over 200 Royal Warrant holders came together to showcase their products, services and skills to over 60,000 visitors in a celebration of tradition, innovation and excellence. From traditional craftspeople and historic family firms to iconic household names and global multinationals operating at the cutting edge of technology, the Coronation Festival presented the rich cross section of Royal Warrant holders to the world.

Regardless of size or specialisation, Royal Warrant holders are united by their commitment to the highest standards of service, quality and excellence and to upholding the tradition and heritage of this most British of institutions.
