FLORENCE ACADEMY OF ART OFFERS ONE WINNER STUDYING OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME
As part of its 23rd anniversary celebrations the reputable Florence Academy of Art is offering one lucky art enthusiast a chance to win a place on their coveted Summer Session.
Through the School's Summer Scholarship Contest, one successful competition winner will study at the prestigious American school for a summer of inspiration and creativity, choosing the workshop of their choice1 (Drawing, Painting or Sculpture) and learning the techniques and practices of the Old Masters.
Based in one of the world's most artistically rich cities, The Florence Academy has trained hundreds of practicing artists over the years including Lotta Blokker, Jordan Sokol and Ramiro Sanchez. This unique competition prize includes 60 hours of expert tuition, as well as guided tours to the city's historic galleries and museums (Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery housing Michelangelo's David, the Bargello Sculpture Museum and the Palatine Gallery at the Pitti Palace). What's more, accommodation in the heart of Florence for the full 4 week course is also included.
The Summer Scholarship Contest is open to anyone, whether a beginner with a passion for figurative arts or a professional artist looking to hone in on their skills, the school would like to see their work!
Too enter, applicants are invited to email three good quality images of their works (produced in the last 2 years) to:

Susan Tintori, the Academy’s Executive Director said:
"It's been an incredible journey over the past 23 years, from humble beginnings to becoming the biggest atelier for figurative arts. We felt it was time to celebrate this milestone and decided to run a contest that encompasses and encourages our passion for figurative art and open it to anyone who shares our passion. I'm confident that the winner of the contest will leave us this summer with much more than a painting or sculpture but a deeper understanding for the craft that will hopefully stay with them forever."
