Newport International Boat Show Rhode Island

Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show, announced its sponsorship program for this year’s show. A number of premier companies have already committed and will play an instrumental role in providing attendees with the most enjoyable boat show experience yet.

“Our attendees come from all over the globe and represent a sophisticated demographic with varying life and boating styles,” said Nancy Piffard, show director of Newport Exhibition Group. “We make every effort to improve their experience by partnering with companies that share our goals. This year’s sponsors are exceptional and we are really looking forward to September.”

Current sponsors include Celebrity Cruises, Centreville Bank, Dockwa, Harbor Town Wine, Harpoon Beer, Helly Hanson, Hendricks Gin, Karma Wellness Water, Lipton Pure Leaf Collection, Polar Beverage, Sea Bags, Sebago and Sobieski Vodka.

“We are excited to continue our support of the Newport International Boat Show as the official footwear supplier,” said Kerry Lawton, global marketing manager, Sebago. “Every year, this show offers more and more excitement for showgoers, from the amazing boats to the special events. We have always found that the Show gives us an incredible opportunity to connect with our customers, and we are positive this year will be the best yet.”

One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country and the premier show in New England, the Newport International Boat Show encompasses over 13 acres and will host hundreds of exhibitors from around the world with new powerboats and sailboats ranging from 16 to 100 feet, plus a variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters. To accommodate the growing number of exhibitors this year, Newport Exhibition Group is adding more docks to the North and South side of the marina.

In addition to the boats, products and services, there will be a number of events to educate and entertain visitors. At The Helm, presented by Confident Captain in conjunction with U.S. sailing/U.S. Powerboating, returns with an expanded line-up of on-the-water training courses for beginners and seasoned boaters. These courses are ideal for individuals or families who are interested in learning how to sail or operate a powerboat, or for those who simply need a refresher course. The 2016 series will also include a kid’s on-the-water program and women-only courses.

The highly anticipated Newport For New Products (NFNP) program provides attendees with the exciting opportunity to view boats and products making their first ever debut in the U.S. Each NFNP entry is judged by a panel of experts and awards are given for best new powerboat; sailboat; navigation product; and boating operation, maintenance or safety product, at a ceremony on Friday, September 16th.

Adding to the visitor experience, and running concurrently with the Newport International Boat Show, the inaugural Newport Wooden Boat Show will take place at Bowen’s Ferry Landing Marina and the annual Newport Brokerage Boat Show will take place at Newport Shipyard. All events are within walking distance or can be accessed by water taxi shuttle.

Set for September 15-18, 2016 on Newport Harbor, the Newport International Boat Show is the kick-off to the boat show season and one of the largest in-water boat shows in the country – hosting exhibitors from around the world with an exceptional assortment of sailboats, powerboats, marine equipment, services and accessories for boaters. Expanding on past offerings, the Newport International Boat Show will host on-water courses, seminars and demonstrations, giving showgoers plenty to look forward to beyond the excitement of new boat debuts and boating gear.
