TranAm - Bikerheadz

We were recently invited to a private, behind-the-scenes peek at TranAm’s UK operation, with a look at some of the new products in their portfolio.

There is a certain quiet power in being the expert’s expert. Tucked away in the verdant, pony-speckled landscape of the New Forest market town of New Milton lies TranAm. While their name might not be emblazoned on the chest of every rider you pass, they are the silent engine driving the UK’s premium motorcycle market. Since 1976, they have acted as the discerning gatekeepers for some of the world’s most prestigious technical brands.

To keep up with the digital age, TranAm launched Bikerheadz, its consumer-facing digital platform. Because TranAm is a wholesaler and doesn't sell directly to the public, Bikerheadz acts as a slick digital catalogue where riders can view videos and 360-degree images of the gear, and then be directed to their nearest local dealer to make the actual purchase.

Following their 2023 acquisition by the Finnish powerhouse Duell Corporation, TranAm has married its local, "by bikers, for bikers" soul with the formidable muscle of a European giant. To step inside their operation, I was introduced to a curated treasure trove featuring the likes of Daytona, Rukka, and Schuberth. If you have ever bought high-end touring or racing gear in a British motorcycle shop, there is a very good chance it came through TranAm's warehouse.

Halvarssons: The Zenith of Scandinavian Utility

If there is a brand that embodies the quiet luxury of the motorcycling world, it is Halvarssons. Born in 1946 in the Swedish tanning town of Malung, the marque has evolved from a family leather dynasty into a global vanguard of "Safety Through Comfort."

The H80 - A 365-Day Masterpiece

For 2026, the Halvarssons H80 Touring Suit stands as a testament to Scandinavian pragmatism pushed to its absolute limit.

Uncompromising Safety, The H80 touring suit is CE Class AAA Certified. This is the highest possible safety rating for motorcycle apparel, meaning the suit offers exceptional slide and abrasion resistance. The H80 is reinforced with HI-ART® anti-abrasion technology and outfitted with Rheon Level 2 armour. It is even pre-configured for integrated airbag systems, ensuring the highest echelon of impact protection.

There is a DRYWAY 20/20 Membrane. This is a highly functional, laminated and drop membrane that is completely waterproof and windproof while remaining breathable.

The fixed inner lining uses Outlast® Technology phase-change materials to proactively regulate your body temperature, absorbing heat when you get hot and releasing it when you get cold, and there is a removable thermal destination Jacket, packed with 80g Innoborne insulation. It is designed to look good enough to be worn completely on its own as a casual jacket once you reach your destination.

To top this off, you have a Detachable Storm Collar, which prevents freezing rain from dripping down your neck during severe downpours.

A simple glance over the H80 and you know what serious weather protection looks like. It is built to handle everything from freezing rain to the sweltering heat of summer with effortless composure. If you are looking to upgrade your riding gear and want genuine all-year-round protection, I urge you to at least look at the H80 suit.

Schuberth: The Silent Revolution

If Halvarssons owns the body, Schuberth has long owned the head. The German manufacturer, a fixture of the industry since 1954, is synonymous with laboratory-grade silence. Their secret weapon is an in-house wind tunnel and acoustics lab that treats wind noise like a mortal enemy.

The C5 ANC - Sonic Perfection

For 2026, Schuberth has unveiled what can only be described as a game-changer: the C5 ANC. Taking the world-renowned C5 modular architecture, they have integrated active noise cancellation directly into the helmet’s architecture.

This helmet is, of course, P/J and ECE 22.06 Homologated.

If you are familiar with high-end noise-cancelling headphones, it uses the same principle, but specifically engineered for the unique, chaotic environment of riding a motorcycle at motorway speeds.

Partnering with communication titans Cardo Systems, Schuberth has created a cockpit for the ears. Using high-fidelity 53mm speakers and internal microphones, the SC Edge ANC system listens to the chaotic turbulence of highway speeds and broadcasts an inverse sound wave to neutralise it.

The result is that perceived wind noise is slashed in half. When paired with 2nd-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC), which connects up to 31 riders with crystal-clear audio, the C5 ANC doesn't just protect you, it transforms the riding experience into something serene, focused, and utterly sophisticated.

I have to say thanks to Ed and Chris at TranAm, who are fantastic ambassadors for TranAm and fierce custodians of the brands they represent. Their understanding of the motorcycle market and their brands is second to none.
