Autumn Hair & Beauty Trends

The last year has been all about women and their underlying strength, which was reflected in the clothes, hair and make-up looks seen on the runways in Paris, London, Milan and New York. With animal prints, leather and cowboy fringes dominating the runways, the power woman is back this autumn - seen most evidently in the '80s silhouettes which had something of a revival (think bold shoulder lines and nipped in waists).
Diversity was the name of the game at the Autumn/Winter fashion shows. Designers incorporated innovative fabrics with looks to please a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Strong looks, centred around the individual women wearing the designs, ruled the runways and celebrated the unique aspects of the models' features.
Discover some of the best beauty trends to compliment the Autumn/Winter fashion below.
HAIR
The bob cut. Longer, layered, fringe or no fringe - no matter how you style it, it's the haircut of the season and everyone's got it.  Also seen at the shows were ballerina buns, twisted buns, braids and effortless ponytails. Chic and simplified, the pared back styles meant that the real star of the shows could shine. Hair accessories from the 90's made a comeback with barrettes, logoed hairslides, banana grips and zig-zag hairbands all making an appearance. Though familiar, they were elevated to new levels of cool with sleek silver accents, leather and dazzling gemstones.
ANDROGYNOUS LOOK
Seeing as diversity has been embraced by the fashion world, the structured brows and soft contour as seen at Alexander Wang gave the models a cool, androgynous look. Teamed with clean skin, layered simply with primers and serums, gave a polished finish.
ROCK INSPIRED EYES
This was cat eyes pushed to extremes, sometimes with an unfinished black eyeliner.  Try using a metallic green, cobalt blue or mustard yellow under your chosen eyeliner to create added impact.
FUTURISTIC SCI-FI STYLE EYES
Seen at Jeremy Scott, Louis Vuitton and Prada. The most beautiful make-up of the season was seen on only 7 models at the Prada show. Created by legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath, the gemstone-embellished, graphic colours which shaped the eyes were my absolute favourite across all of the shows. Although this look is hardly wearable for every day, the festive season is approaching so dare to be bold.
MONOCHROME EYES
The use of a single swipe of colour - particularly in cooler shades of silver, mauve, lilac and candyfloss pink - were all seen on the runways. For a more romantic feel, pastel eyeshadow was seen to brighten up the winter weather, mimicking the soft flush that cold weather brings.
SPARKLE
With the '80s making a return there's never been a better time to throw some glitter into the mix. You can now get biodegradable glitters, such as Disco Dust London, to glam up any make-up look. Add a touch of sparkle to the inner corners of the eyes, cheekbones, forehead, or go all out and channel Val Garland's look for Giambattista Valli's with glitter dusted all over the face.
CHERRY RED AND CRIMSON LIPS
Power women wear power colours. Crimson, scarlet and cherry red were the winners at the shows, seen at the likes of Alexander McQueen and Rochas. To really highlight the arch of the cupid's bow, use a gold highlight as we saw at Brandon Maxwell.
