Givori Extends Luxury Mobile Experience To Android & Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Givori, the luxury smartphone designer, has expanded its range to include Android-powered devices with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge ‘Carbon’ series. It is all designed and touted to combine “masculine design” and exotic leather with the latest in smartphone technology to deliver that “opulent mobile experience” - at a price of nearly $2,000 a pop.
This might, however, not be to everyone’s taste. But the new collection adorns the Korean mobile maker’s flagship device with “premium” alligator leather, catering to loyal Android users with an appreciation for what is touted as “exquisite craftsmanship”.
The Carbon edition of the dual-SIM S7 edge will make a commanding yet sophisticated presence in any room, the smartphone design firm asserts. But they would say that wouldn’t they?
Givori’s latest work of art, priced as $1,900 (c.£1,350/€1,690) and released less than a month after the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge hit the shelves globally, is one of the world’s first customized editions of the device. But it is not the most expensive product offered by the firm, which spans collections including the Carbon Collection, Charlotte, Le Mans, Phantom, Stella, Swarovski Crystal and Vintage.
The price range for collection starts at $1,497 for Givori’s Rouge, which applies aniline dyes on vegetable-tanned cowhide on the back of the iPhone 6s 64GB (also for Noir and Juane editions), and ratchets up to $5,173 for the Calypso Malachite iPhone 6S 128GB that incorporates a braided gold grid weaves pieces of hand-carved Malachite fish scales - and $25,320 the Calypso Diamond limited edition iPhone 6S 128GB.
The latter is encased 18 carat white gold and black platinum and has 117 hand-carved pieces of jet black Onyx combined with a diamond encrusted back panel. To date only 50 of these have been made globally. For some it’s like jewellery.
Specifically, Givori does not produce phone covers, but rather it customizes smartphones and all design elements are built into the device exterior - with no detachable parts.
Alligator Leather & Luxury
The ‘Carbon’ S7 edge embeds the back of the device with a matte finish high-grade Mississippiensis alligator leather, which is recognized as the Rolls-Royce of exotic leathers and known for its exceptional durability and more supple texture than compared to traditional crocodile leather.
Some might perhaps describe such opulence as over the top and consider that there are better things to do with your money and invest in.
Layal Akouri, General Manager of Givori, commenting in the wake of the launch says: “We understand our customers have different preferences when it comes to smartphone choice, and the new Carbon series of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is part of our efforts to extend the luxury mobile experience to Android fans. Now they too have the option of owning a beautifully handcrafted Givori device.”
Givori transforms the smartphone into luxury handwear by custom building each phone using the finest materials, from precious metals and high-grade diamonds to premium exotic leather and vintage rare elements. And, all Givori customizations are handcrafted in Italy, the UK and Switzerland by craftsmen to create exclusive editions of some of the most popular smartphones.
Individuals consuming such luxury items will influenced by one of four drivers: (1) Inward Reward to satisfy self-fulfilment; (2) Social Success where people typically buy watches, bags and apparel; (3) Social Status as a badge to stand out; and, (4) Social Acceptance.
But the drivers and motivations differs by country and geographic region. For example, according to market research firm Albatross Global Solutions that specializes in understanding consumer trends in the luxury sector and improving retail performance, the UK is a market for luxury that is predominantly driven by inner reward, while territories such as Brazil gaining social acceptance is of paramount.
The latest Givori design can be found at Harvey Nichols - Dubai, Bloomingdales - Dubai, select Damas jewellery boutiques, as well as select Mohammad Rasool Khoory & Sons stores in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and further select Axiom Telecom showrooms across the UAE and Saudi Arabia (KSA). However, if you are unable to visit one of their stores free shipping is offered worldwide.
Their devices are coated with a nanotechnology film, applied to combat oxidation, fingerprints and colour fading, and also come with one-year warranty on all software, cosmetic and jewellery elements. But then at these sort of prices one might just expect that as standard for this kind of luxury. For more information on Givori’s products see: www.givori.com
