The Hunter’s Moon is the first full moon that follows the Harvest Moon and every three or fall years it falls in October. The unusual orange colour is created as we look at the full moon close to the horizon, the light it reflects towards us passes through more of the Earth’s atmosphere that when it is close overhead. Silhouetted in this rare phenomenon in a black bat in flight. Its wings are outstretched and it soars overhead, its night flight lit by the Hunter’s Moon in its full autumnal glory.
