Moorcroft Numbered Edition Whitby Vase, MCR-061 Originally founded as a studio in 1897 within a large ceramic company, James Macintyre & Co. Moorcroft pottery soon made its mark on the world. Today, Moorcroft leads the world of art pottery with its own distinctive design style. We are proud to present this Moorcroft collection featuring stunning pottery designs inspired by Whitby. This limited edition vase, each one signed and numbered, took inspiration from the picturesque view of Whitby; depicting the multi-coloured and charming harbour town. Perched high on a cliff, it's easy to see why the haunting remains of Whitby Abbey were inspiration for Bram Stoker's gothic tale of 'Dracula'. This vase design features the Whitby Abbey, still fighting the pull of gravity. Centuries of weather and war have taken their toll - parts of the abbey church have collapsed during storms, and its west front was hit by German naval shelling in 1914. All articles purchased will be lovingly and securely dispatched with our elegant packaging. Dimensions: H 50.00 x W 22.00 x D 22.00 cm, Shape 364/20.
