Within a super hard coated titanium case, under dual sapphire glass crystal is a dark ‘deep night’ black dial, with a vertical subdial layout – a first for Astron. This model has its own contemporary feel, with its sleek lines, slim profile, and compact, angular design. It has an almost seamless flow from the case, through the lugs and to the bracelet.

For a century, Seiko have innovated in watchmaking, crafting timepieces that continue to offer brilliance today. Brilliance is the theme of this Astron, named after the founder of Seiko: Mr Kintaro Hattori.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 watch reference IW328903, with a textured green dial, distils the essence of the sporty Gerald Genta design created back in the 1970s. It features a unique grid pattern upon its surface, creating a detailed backdrop for a set of rhodium coated hands and hour markers. The stick indexes have been treated with luminous material to assist with legible timekeeping at night.

The case should be slim, which called for a micro-rotor movement. Thus, it was a natural decision to translate the strengths of Czapek's in-house calibre SXH5 - originally developed for the sporting Antarctique collection - into this new identity.
