Have you ever wanted to properly test one McLaren against another? We thought it might be fun to pit the new McLaren GT against the McLaren 720S Coupe. So we schlepped up to Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford to give it a go.

I took my son in the Ferrari F8 Tributo to Paris for the tour of a lifetime. To acquaint yourself with such a chef d’oeuvre you must challenge yourself and the car. And boy was it fun around the massive roundabout that is the Arc de Triomphe.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo Spider is the upgrade to the terrific 488 and lies between it and the Pista. Think of it as the younger sibling, faster, lighter and stronger but with the same DNA. Ferrari began their open-top V8 cars with the 308 GTS in 1977 and their legend continues with the new F8 Tributo Spider.

Rolls-Royce presented the new Black Badge Ghost in great secrecy. I was chauffeured to an unknown location to test the new Ghost in almost total darkness.

The mood was set for an extraordinary event. The Black Badge Ghost, the representation of the darker side of Rolls-Royce was exhibited as a grand museum piece in a specially decorated warehouse complete with a green Agusta Helicopter and roaring neon tiger in the background.

Audi’s revised RS5 is a beautiful machine. Purposeful, powerful, brutally efficient and superbly well built.

Triumph Motorcycles is one of the most iconic and recognisable brands in motorcycle culture. Their journey hasn’t been easy but these days, the current Triumph lineup is packed with great bikes. 

I recently had the Scrambler 1200XC to play with for a couple of weeks, which is now what we seem to call a road-adventure crossover motorcycle.

Not so long ago I was lucky enough to join Jeep on the launch of the current Wrangler in the Lake District. It was a perfect place to enjoy the Wrangler with challenging green lanes only a stone’s throw away and beautiful scenery all around. 

We tested the off-road capability on some serious off-road sections, guided by a 4x4 events team, and witnessed first-hand how amazing the wrangler is off-road.

We took the marvellous McLaren GT on a luxury adventure tour of the South of England including West Wittering Beach, Hayling Island and Somerset before finally racing against two Parajets on a mile-long private road.

The high point was definitely the two Parajet pilots weaving around the car as we cruised together past sunlit fields full of summer flowers.

We also did some more jet boarding on a beautiful lake with Mako Jetboards. Well, why not. Fly or surf was the aim of the adventure tour and we were lucky enough to do both.
