Best Men’s Fashion Spring Summer 2017

Best Men’s Fashion Spring Summer 2017

We’ve picked the very best looks from our favourite designers and catwalk trends for spring summer 2017. Geek chic is still big, except the geeks are now partying with rock stars. A return to the bad old days of power dressing, with a louche street edge, multi layering and soft textures, and luxury materials that show you like the finer things in life, but don’t have to put too much effort in to look great. It’s all about camping and being out in the real world, practical but still dressed to kill. Think camping and hiking with glamour.

Hochkoenig Austria-Family Skiing At Its Best

Hochkoenig Austria-Family Skiing At Its Best

Choosing a family ski resort is fraught with problems as the needs of the frequently extended family have differing criteria of requirements.  The mid-teens can be a difficult age but there are a few resorts where everyone can be happy and have a fulfilling holiday.  To explain that qualification, a riotous nightlife with lots of options of night clubs can be a little concerning for the parents.  The options vary between night-skiing up to three hours (2016 - on three nights a week) to an in-hotel live music evening, swimming, family friendly bars and restaurants, tobogganing plus sleigh ri

Faberge Snowflakes

Faberge Snowflakes

The depths of winter in which we now find ourselves has served as inspiration to many artists and designers. The snowflake, with its perfect symmetry and tantalisingly beautiful crystal structure has been rendered many times over in diamonds by artist jewellers throughout the last century. One jeweller, however, was key in popularising the motif in the 20th century: Carl Fabergé. He took the concept of ice and snow and made it his own, and how fitting that this should be done by a Russian jeweller, a country where the extremes of winter are harsher than most of us are used to.

The Importance of Cut in Gemstones

The Importance of Cut in Gemstones

Colour, Carat, Clarity and Cut... these are the four important characteristics by which gemstones (especially diamonds) are judged. Of the four, cut is the most important one, the one that brings the other three qualities together. Sacrifice cut for carat weight and you have a stone with poor colour diffusion and bad light reflecting properties. If the stone is not studied properly and the inclusions are not well disguised within a stone, the value plummets.

Eddie Redmayne Profile

Eddie Redmayne Profile

Eddie Redmayne is known as the nicest guy in show biz, a pretty impressive title when you think of the pressure of living in the media spotlight and the constant attention a handsome chap with an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Bafta by the age of 34 receives.
Tom Hooper the director of The Danish Girl thinks Redmayne is ‘Hugh Jackman-level nice’.
