I recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on a journey to the Green Spa Resort Stanglwirt, an enchanting Austrian retreat situated amid the majestic Alps. As a seasoned traveller, it takes a lot to impress me, but Stanglwirt managed to surprise and captivate me in a way I hadn't experienced before. This extraordinary place exudes a magical and exceptionally welcoming atmosphere that made leaving incredibly difficult. Promising myself that I would return as soon as possible, I departed with a deep longing for the serene haven I had found.

Arriving at Stanglwirt felt like coming home. From the moment I set foot in the resort, I was embraced with unparalleled warmth and treated like a cherished member of the family. The level of hospitality extended to me was truly outstanding, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.

Surrounded by the awe-inspiring peaks of the Austrian Alps, Stanglwirt stands as an epitome of luxurious comfort, traditional charm, and raw natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range, the journey to the resort set the tone for an unforgettable retreat. The fortunate experience of approaching this remarkable destination in a super stylish Rolls-Royce Cullinan, seemingly crafted specifically for navigating the challenging mountainous terrain, only added to the grandeur of the entire experience. We caught the eye of many a passerby in this sleepy corner of the world, as always the Cullinan certainly impressed the locals. As I caught my first glimpse of the iconic green-roofed buildings, a deep sense of connection with the natural splendour enveloping Stanglwirt washed over me, creating an irresistible invitation to explore and indulge.

The architectural beauty of Stanglwirt seamlessly melds traditional Tyrolean aesthetics with modern luxury. The charm of the resort's facade, adorned with charming flower boxes and wooden balconies, radiates warmth unlike anywhere else. As I stepped into my expansive suite, I was met with a sanctuary of comfort boasting Alpine-inspired décor and panoramic views that showcased the resort's idyllic surroundings. The level of attention to detail was truly remarkable, with the suite featuring two bedrooms – a luxurious master bedroom and a cosy single bedroom. Additionally, the spacious layout included a generous dining and lounge area, a sizable bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi for relaxation, and a refreshing rainfall shower. However, the absolute highlight was the vast terrace offering sweeping, breathtaking views of the awe-inspiring mountains, elevating the entire experience to a level of excellence that would be difficult to surpass.

The grandeur of the looming mountains was nothing short of staggering. Having spent time in the French Alps and the grand Dolomites, nothing quite prepared me for the sheer magnificence of Kitzbühel. It felt akin to being on a date with a supermodel – overwhelming yet utterly captivating, leaving me unable to tear my gaze away from the spellbinding beauty that surrounded me.

Stanglwirt boasts an array of dining options, each offering a delectable symphony of flavours that celebrate regional and international cuisine. The main restaurant, with its rustic elegance, provides a captivating backdrop of the majestic mountains as guests savour culinary masterpieces crafted from locally sourced ingredients. The opportunity to dine al fresco or indoors added a delightful element of choice. The authenticity of the resort was further underscored by the owner's son, Johannes, whose responsible hands crafted the delectable cheeses and hams. It was evident that these homemade delicacies were infused with love and care, contributing to a truly exceptional dining experience.

The wellness facilities at Stanglwirt are a sanctuary for the body and soul, which allowed me to embark on a transformative journey of relaxation. The spa offered a diverse range of rejuvenating massages and holistic treatments, all inspired by Tyrolean traditions. It was during a conversation with the owner's daughter, Maria, who oversees the Spa and Wellness department, that I discovered Rolfing – a holistic therapy focusing on manipulating fascia, the body's connective tissue. Maria, who also suffers from curvature of the spine, recommended this treatment as a successful method for combating back, neck, and shoulder pain. Following her suggestion, I booked an appointment with Sascha Bauer, the Bio Mechanic Coach, and was utterly blown away by the experience. Rolfing, despite only being able to undergo two sessions due to my limited time at the resort, resulted in increased flexibility, reduced pain, and an overall improvement in my well-being, truly exemplifying the resort's commitment to holistic wellness.

I was able to indulge in equestrian activities opting to take riding lessons from the expert trainer, as it had been quite a while since I rode. I took my lessons in the well-maintained indoor riding arena which allows for year-round riding, ensuring that the experience is not weather-dependent.

The resort also offers unique experiences like carriage rides, which provide a romantic and nostalgic way to explore the surrounding countryside. Children are not left out, as pony rides and interactive stable tours let them get up close and personal with these gentle giants.
