For almost 100 years, E. Marinella has been specialised in beautiful accessories for man and women. The classic brand, steeped in history and tradition, is still today renowned for its collection of handmade ties, which are the epitome of Italian elegance.   These exquisite ties can be made in what is known as the 5-fold, 7-fold or 9-fold pattern, which is a reassuring luxury the wearer can either disclose or keep as his bespoke secret.   All the ties are unique and handmade, and the silks used for each tie is different and cut to make just one tie.
To compliment the E.Marinella ties, there is also a collection for fine shirts, looses scarves, silk bow-ties, cufflinks to match the ties’ silk pattern and other accessories which spruce up a gentleman’s wardrobe. The E.Marinella boutique also houses a colourful line of covetable leather goods, wallets, document carriers and briefcases for both him and her, alongside alluring fresh colognes and day-time watches.
E. Marinella also flatters a woman wardrobe with soft leather handbags, elegant briefcases and silk scarves.
It all started in 1914, on the eve of the First World War, when Eugenio Marinella opened a shop in Piazza Vittoria, on the elegant Riviera di Chiaia in Naples. The 20 square meter shop was in a great location, where the Neapolitan high society went walking. The shop soon became a small, sought after destination, a small piece of England in the heart of Naples.
At the beginning, the main focus of the shop was shirts, an essential garment in every man’s wardrobe. Eugenio managed to persuade some top shirt makers from Paris to teach his workers in Naples the art of the cut. With regard to the ties, they are folded seven times: the square is folded up seven times inwards so that to give an incomparable consistence to the tie.
The shop has passed through important historical events that have also changed the course of its history and after the evolutions of the society and of the custom, Eugenio changed his product focus from the production of shirts to ties, which have gone to become the Marinella’s best seller.
