There are so many restaurants in London these days that when you recommend somewhere to a visitor to the metropolis you might be forgiven for feeling slightly nervous. However, you know you are in safe hands when you suggest Mark Hix, whose reputation must span almost twenty years or so, and his executive chef Lee Kebble.

At any time of year Ljubljana is a delight. We have just added another time to visit: early December for the St. Nicolas celebrations which lift the city into another dimension. The mix between a religious festival and commercial interests is so much better than in the UK, it is the equal of Antwerp which we had assumed was way ahead of anything we had experienced previously.

One of the more curious repercussions of the world becoming so much smaller thanks to better international transport connections, is that you almost forget what’s right here on your own doorstep. Far flung destinations, with their white sandy beaches and impossibly blue skies, so often manage to shout louder than good old Blighty. Sometimes, though, it’s important to remember that to overlook your homeland might be short sighted.

International eXcellence Magazine was privileged to be invited to attend the Silver Butterfly Ball at the Royal Institute of British Architects to raise money for the Sohana Research Fund. Sohana is a lovely 12 year old girl who was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa otherwise known as EB.

Lotus Evora 400 makes UK debut at the London MotorExpo and UK registrations for Lotus cars have increased by 109% in the first five months of 2015.
MotorExpo, held at Canary Wharf in London’s Docklands commercial zone, held the honour of the UK debut of the Lotus Evora 400, ahead of deliveries to customers commencing in August 2015.
The arrival of the Evora 400 will boost the upwards trend in the UK sales demand for Lotus, led currently by both Elise and Exige models, notably as registrations of new Lotus cars in the UK.

Bruichladdich (pronounced Brooik Laddie) is one of the finest single malt scotch whisky distilleries in the world and its master distiller is a legend in the whisky world. So I was delighted to be invited to a whisky sipping party for him at Quaglinos, where he was hosting a Bruichladdich tasting for a very select few. The Bruichladdich distillery is based on the Scottish island of Islay on the upper west coast of Scotland and is famous for both the breath taking scenery and its Scotch whisky. They are also well known for the Botanist Gin they produce for Remy Cointreau.

Another Austrian company Kormaran GmbH (must be an engineering trend) are launching a new class of boat that looks fabulous in a retro modern way. It has different modes, monohull, trimaran, catamaran and flight mode and runs at 44 mph. Definitely a worthy contender for the best looking water bike out there.
