It’s been a surreal season this London Fashion Week. I set out with one agenda and finished up with quite another, which illustrates perfectly the joys of being freelance and having to be prepared for anything. Work as a fashion freelancer can definitely be compared to London buses - you can wait around for ages until your feet get sore then several all come at once.
It was less of a ripple and more of an earthquake that was caused by the screening of the BBC Documentary Fashions Dirty Secrets last year. Stacey Dooley’s exposé investigated the true cost of our obsession with new clothes, revealing that the fashion industry is the most polluting in the world, second only to oil.

The great and the good of the fashion industry gathered to pay homage at the alter of Dior yesterday, viewing the press preview of ‘Dior: Designer of Dreams’ at the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was, as expected, utterly breathtaking.
International Excellence Luxury Magazine Golf Fashion Shoot at Worplesdon Golf Club Credits
International Excellence Magazine photographed its latest fashion shoot at Worplesdon Golf Club, a gorgeous 18 hole golf club just outside Woking, known for its classic Surrey Heathland layout and superb short holes.
The greens are excellent and amongst the best in Surrey. Built on predominantly Bagshot sand, the course drains well in the winter and becomes very much the inland links course the heathland courses are famed for in the summer.
With runway models looking like extras from eighties soaps such as 'Dynasty' or 'The Bold and the Beautiful', Autumn/Winter continues with a jangling explosion of colour and sparkle in a manner that Iris Apfel would be proud of. Statement jewels, the chunkier and gaudier the better clamour for our attention, with layering and logo-mania on repeat.
Oriental Fashion Show Paris - The Jewel Of The East
Ambitiously positioned smack bang in the centre of Couture Fashion Week, when the world is watching Paris almost as much as the World Cup -the two events being ironically similar in levels of drama and exhibitionism - the Oriental Fashion Show bursts onto the scene and certainly attracts attention.
Since Pantone crowned Ultra Violet the colour of the year, there is a veritable rainbow of purple, lavender and indigo in the shops. Whether you are warm or cool skin-toned, there is a shade that will suit you, but if sporting the royal colour is not your style, turn to accessories for a more subtle nod to the trend. Why I packed my gym kit, I have no idea! I seemed to have romantic plans of escaping the melee for a peaceful run around the city every day.
