It is undeniably striking, possessing a visual gravitas that rivals the Audi I recently reviewed. Has Volkswagen, in its apparent wisdom, decided to engage in a form of sibling rivalry? The Maserati Grecale Trofeo, recently launched in the UK, is a five-seater SUV with a seriously fabulous engine borrowed from the MC20 supercar. We took it for a spin to Bath and around the surrounding Somerset countryside, putting it through its paces on and off-road to see if it hits the sweet spot for a luxury brand SUV.

Our return trip to Surrey coincided with the transition from the last rays of summer sun to the arrival of October storms.
The Lamborghini Urus is a huge departure for such a massive supercar icon, many said it would ruin the brand and should never be done. I felt the same way until I drove this new SUV all over Surrey, Sussex and Somerset on a glorious driving tour that changed my preconceptions.
Though this is not the first SUV they made, indeed the Lamborghini LM002, aka "Rambo Lambo”, was an off-road style jeep manufactured by Lamborghini between 1986 and 1993 and resembled a Humvee.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio looks good in the photographs, but what struck me was how much better it looked in the flesh, or steel. It has a presence and style that most SUV’s fail to match and perfoms like a sports car. A genuine pleasure to drive and holds the road like no other SUV on the market. Better than many sports cars actually.
