Emma Raducanu Soaring Star Profile

Emma Raducanu Soaring Star Profile

Emma Raducanu catapulted to fame after making history at the US Open in September, winning £1.8 million in the process. First British woman to win a Grand Slam title since Virginia Wade at Wimbledon in 1977. Her rise has been nothing short of meteoric.

Interestingly, more people  in the US watched the women’s US Open singles final than the men’s, a testament to her wide-ranging appeal and extraordinary media presence.

Sports & Leisure

Polo, cricket, horse racing, golf, tennis, rowing... we’re a nation obsessed with sport.

Every year England hosts world-class sporting events, from tennis and golf to sailing and horse racing, just as it has for centuries. We’ve also hosted the summer Olympics no fewer than three times.
So it’s little wonder that much of our leisure time, as well as our social calendar, is dominated by sport. Strawberries and cream feature rather a lot too...
