Henrietta has written her own account of the Cotswold garden and her creative process.   Her words reveal a spontaneous enthusiasm, heartfelt with a touching sincerity. 

‘The cottage is in the most idyllic spot, we have an uninterrupted view of rolling valleys without seeing another house for miles.  Every inch of the cottage is covered with climbing plants.  We even have a pair of tame robins that feed out of our hand and come when you call them. ‘

As a whisky writer, I have the privilege of receiving invitations to a multitude of events, allowing me the opportunity to sample a wide variety of fine and rare whisky. While my passion for whisky would ideally lead to comprehensive articles for each event and whisky, the constraints of time render this impractical. Consequently, I will be introducing a column to provide succinct summaries of my impressions.

Welcome to the Toyota Aygo, the legendary luxury limited-edition supercar for less than 20K. And we felt that maybe that made it interesting enough to cover here. We were hoping it might be fun and were not disappointed. I mean what the hell, this is a 20k car, why are we reviewing it? Because for the money it is excellent.

Michelle Pearson Cooper’s  delicate flower studies,  made when Covid meant escape to Africa was forbidden, are another highlight of her exhibition.  

These paintings of  wildflowers, butterflies and bees,  were inspired during the pandemic.  

The exhibition, inserted like a ship in a bottle into the domestic proportions of the Osborne Studio Gallery, comprises a collection from the sixty of more Climping beach scenes,  and one eight footer of the Arctic, following Baker’s Cummingøya expedition.

I typically abstain from writing about blended whisky, but it is necessary to change that stance given the resurgence the category is experiencing. Blended whisky, when crafted with care, can offer a delightful drinking experience, deserving far more recognition than it currently receives. Gone are the days of dismissive notions about inexpensive, characterless bottles; instead, we must shift our focus to the profusion of new premium releases that have emerged.
