As divisive a subject as you could ask for, whenever words like ‘finest’ and ‘film’ are put together the smart money is on an argument breaking out. We all look for different things from the seventh art, and as a result it’s impossible for everyone to see movies in the same way. Nevertheless, we decided to stick our neck out and compile the following list of must-see films from the last two years, all of which are five-star masterpieces.

International eXcellence attended a small soiree last night at the Groucho Club hosted by Vestra Wealth and Alain de Botton from the School of Life. Now at first glance it may seem an odd marriage to team a philosophy/psychology school with a wealth company, but it is without doubt a very good idea indeed.

The renowned and glamorous soprano Danielle de Niese is holding a concert starting at 19.30 on the 24th of June at St John's Smith Square to support the Sohana Research Fund (SRF).
The New York Times referred to her as "Opera's coolest soprano" and she is truly excellent, beautiful with the voice to match.
Danielle de Niese will be accompanied by Cameron Stowe on Piano. The VIP Champagne reception post concert tickets with Danielle can be purchased here for £100:

One of Formula 1’s forgotten machines, the Lec CRP1, will turn a wheel in anger for the first time in over 35 years at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 26-29.
The CRP1, which last appeared at the Thruxton round of the Aurora AFX Formula 1 Series in 1979, and previously put the cat among the pigeons by leading the 1977 Belgian Grand Prix in the hands of David Purley, has been restored by WDK Motorsport and will be driven up the iconic Goodwood Hillclimb by Festival of Speed and Revival regular, Joe Twyman.

As part of their commemoration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the Imperial War Museum, Duxford present D-Day -The Last of the Liberators, a collection of photographic portraits featuring some of the last surviving British Normandy veterans.

There's a tragic truth to the premise of Samuel Fuller's often overlooked (or, more accurately, largely unseen) film, White Dog, which isn't so much revealed via subtle metaphor as a smack-you-in-the-face cornerstone of the movie's overall reason to exist. And the relevancy stretches far beyond the America it was born into. 

Trying to explain you’re flying to Venice with the sole intention of ignoring one of the world’s most beautiful cities isn’t easy. People look at you with the kind of faces reserved for missed opportunities.
Nevertheless, hear me out.

‘Ebb and Flow’ is a photographic exhibition by renowned Chinese photographer, Qin Yuhai. Opening in the UK in London at the Saatchi Gallery 11, from 11 – 15 June 2014, it is presented by Fuhai Culture Development Ltd, an organisation engaged in art and culture from Beijing, China, and features a world exclusive of new studies of water taken from the Chinese landscape over a period of many years.
