High Frequency Trading

High Frequency Trading

If you invest in the stock market, have a pension or life insurance and have never heard of High Frequency Trading then it is extremely likely you have lost money to this practise.
High Frequency Trading is essentially the use of computer programs known as algorithms and high speed internet connections to find out what stock trade is being made and to then buy or sell that stock before that trade can be made, taking an instant commission from the price jump. It’s like invisible Gazumping only much faster and you only get in the middle of the trade for a millisecond.

Celebrating Father's Day in Style

Celebrating Father's Day in Style

Sling out the socks and trash the ties – make this Father’s Day truly special with a gift from world-leading life casting experts Wrightson & Platt.
Imagine the look on dad’s face when he unwraps a money clip with his child’s feet cast flawlessly in gold; or when he sees a favourite drawing or fingerprint immortalised on a pair of solid silver cufflinks; or looks in wonder at an incredible display of feet or hands in multi-coloured glass cast from his very own work of art.

White Dog

White Dog

There's a tragic truth to the premise of Samuel Fuller's often overlooked (or, more accurately, largely unseen) film, White Dog, which isn't so much revealed via subtle metaphor as a smack-you-in-the-face cornerstone of the movie's overall reason to exist. And the relevancy stretches far beyond the America it was born into.

Four Reasons To See 300: Rise of An Empire

Four Reasons To See 300: Rise of An Empire

March 7th saw the release of 300: Rise of An Empire. Inspired by the decidedly macho Frank Miller graphic novels, on the face of it this could be written off as simply just another comic book adaptation, albeit one of the large minority targeting a more adult audience.
We’d beg to disagree, though, and as such decided to offer a few comments on the matter. Without further ado then, we present the four reasons we're excited about the movie, eager to feast our eyes on the contents whilst gorging on an unhealthily-sized portion of that Hollywood-proper pre-requisite, popcorn.
