Every year England hosts world-class sporting events, from tennis and golf to sailing and horse racing, just as it has for centuries. We’ve also hosted the summer Olympics no fewer than three times.
So it’s little wonder that much of our leisure time, as well as our social calendar, is dominated by sport. Strawberries and cream feature rather a lot too...

 
1. Cornwall
Well deserving of the top spot, Cornwall boasts some of the warmest and sunniest weather in the UK. Stretches of beautiful coastline with fabulous beaches, and waves to attract the most daring of surfers. Make sure you explore the secluded coves dotting the shoreline, once used by smugglers to store their bounty, and no visit would be complete without trying a famous Cornish pasty.

- This double-decker behemoth is said to feature a garage for two Rolls-Royces, a stable for horses and camels and a pen for hawks. At $500 million one can only imagine travelling in such luxury.
2. Airbus A318 Elite ACJ (Vijay Mallya) - $81-Million
- The Airbus A318 ACJ seats 24 and can fly from Mumbai to the U.S. with a single refueling stop. Owned by Vijay Mallya, chairman of the UB Group, an Indian conglomerate which owns Kingfisher Airlines. The plane boasts a $40 million customised interior.

 
$500,000 (for charity) - Screaming Eagle Cabernet 1992
- Technically the highest price ever paid for a bottle of wine. However, the price paid was for charitable purposes.
 
$275,000 – Shipwrecked 1907 Heidsieck: the world's most expensive Champagne.
- In 1998, two thousand bottles of Champagne were salvaged from a ship, originally destined Imperial Court of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, They have been sold at auctions all over the world.
 
$225,000 – Chateau Margaux 1787: the most expensive wine never to be sold.

Riva speed boats are legendary and have been coveted and owned by a host of attractive and wealthy celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot, Sean Connery, Peter Sellers, Prince Rainier of Monaco, King Hussein, the Shah of Persia, Carlo Ponti, Sophia Loren, and the King of Sweden. George Clooney was gunning one around Lake Iseo a few weeks ago in a Japanese ad campaign for Mercedes Benz.
