LiveWire Alpinista

LiveWire Alpinista

LiveWire is a premium all-electric motorcycle brand. It originally began as "Project LiveWire," an initiative by Harley-Davidson to explore the electric vehicle space. In 2019, Harley-Davidson released its first production electric motorcycle under the LiveWire name.

Recognising the distinct market for electric motorcycles, Harley-Davidson spun LiveWire out into its own standalone company in 2021, to give it the freedom to act more like a tech startup. Harley-Davidson remains the majority shareholder.

Today, LiveWire focuses entirely on engineering and manufacturing high-performance electric motorcycles that blend modern technology with aggressive, street-focused styling.

LiveWire currently builds its motorcycles across two main platforms: the flagship ONE and the mid-weight S2 Arrow architecture.

LiveWire ONE: This is the brand's flagship electric sport-tourer and the direct evolution of the original Harley-Davidson LiveWire. It is designed for premium performance, offering rapid acceleration, high-end Showa suspension, and Brembo brakes.

LiveWire S2 Arrow: Lightweight electric motorcycle architecture featuring an integrated structural battery pack, motor, and controller that powers S2 Alpinista, Mulholland, and Del Mar.

S2 Alpinista (Sport Standard): Designed to be a practical, thrilling, versatile bike for everyday commuting and weekend rides.
S2 Mulholland (Performance Cruiser): A sleek performance cruiser, engineered for confidence and control.
S2 Del Mar (Street Tracker): Designed for navigating the urban landscapes, where speed, agility and acceleration rule.

Performance and Specifications
Electric motorcycles deliver a fundamentally different riding experience than traditional combustion engines, characterised by instant torque, no clutch or gear shifting, and near-silent operation. It’s an intoxicating experience. There is no waiting for revs to build, to get you to the fattest part of the torque curve. Electric motorcycles deliver all the torque, all the time.

LiveWire ONE (Flagship Specs):
Acceleration: 0–60 mph in 3.0 seconds
Top Speed: 110 mph
Power: 100 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque
Range: Up to 146 miles in the city (roughly 95 miles combined city/highway)
Charging: Equipped with DC Fast Charging, it can charge from 0 to 80% in 40 minutes, or a full 100% charge in 60 minutes.

LiveWire S2 Platform (Del Mar / Mulholland / S2 Alpinista Specs):
Acceleration: 0–60 mph in roughly 3.0 to 3.3 seconds
Power: 84 horsepower and a massive 194 lb-ft of torque
Range: Up to 120 miles in the city (around 73–91 miles combined/highway)
Charging: Supports Level 1 (standard wall outlet) and Level 2 public charging. It does not support DC Fast Charging. A Level 2 charger can refill the battery from 20% to 80% in about 78 minutes.

Technology and Features
All LiveWire models come heavily equipped with rider-assist technologies. This includes a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that manages cornering-enhanced ABS and traction control. The bikes feature multiple customisable ride modes (such as Sport, Road, Rain, and Range) that adjust throttle response and regenerative braking. Additionally, the motorcycles feature full-colour TFT touchscreen displays with Bluetooth connectivity, app integration, turn-by-turn navigation, and over-the-air (OTA) software update capabilities.

LiveWire are poised to release a new model, the S4 Honcho: a fully electric mini-moto built for those who are always on the move. With its rugged build and snappy acceleration, the Honcho seamlessly bridges the gap between daily errands and weekend escapes. It makes the mundane fun, whether you're navigating urban gridlock or seeking out a quiet spot in nature. It's more than just a way to get around—it's your trusty wingman, ensuring that every ride is a guaranteed good time. I can’t wait for these to land so I can have a go on one.

High Voltage in the Heartland: The S2 Alpinista Rewrites the Custom Rulebook
There is an art to promotion, a certain alchemy required to turn heads in an industry steeped in petrol fumes and roaring exhausts. It is an art that LiveWire has undeniably mastered. By joining forces with the renegades and visionaries of the custom world, think SMCo, V-Twin Visionary, and the unapologetic Gas Monkey Garage, they aren't just building electric motorcycles; they are crafting cultural moments.
Nowhere was this more evident than at the 2026 Mama Tried Motorcycle Show in Milwaukee. Amidst a sea of traditional iron, LiveWire dropped a silent thunderbolt: the debut of two wildly distinct, utterly bespoke S2 Alpinista motorcycles that drew unprecedented crowds and dominated the conversation.
A Head-to-Head Masterclass: Gas Monkey vs. V-Twin Visionary

Commissioned as a head-to-head challenge, these twin projects brought together two absolute titans of the custom scene. On one side, the irrepressible Richard Rawlings and his Gas Monkey Garage crew are bringing their global, record-setting audacity to the table. On the other side, Jeff G. Holt, the man behind V-Twin Visionary, widely credited with dragging the heavy cruiser market into a sleek, aggressive, and performance-oriented modern age.
Using the formidable S2 Alpinista platform as their blank canvas, both builders pushed the boundaries of what is possible within the realm of electric motorcycle customisation. The result? A pair of one-of-one machines that proved EVs don't just belong on the fringes of custom culture, they are actively defining its next thrilling chapter, converging design, performance, and craftsmanship without a single compromise.
"LiveWire thanks Richard and Jeff for bringing their unmatched talent, creativity, and flawless execution to their custom S2 Alpinista builds. Their willingness to explore new territory in electric motorcycle customisation speaks not only to their vision as builders, but to where the movement itself is headed." > – Jon Bekefy, Head of Commercial, LiveWire

For us European riders, the news is particularly sweet. Shifting gear to expand access without sacrificing its hallmark performance, LiveWire has reduced MSRPs across its entire S2 lineup. With fresh S2 inventory rolling into European dealerships this April, the brand is rapidly expanding its footprint. Having confidently pushed into Poland, Finland, Belgium, Portugal, and Luxembourg in 2025, joining established strongholds like the UK, France, Germany, and Italy, LiveWire now boasts one of the most comprehensive electric two-wheel retail networks on the continent.
The Next Charge

Armed with more accessible pricing, a burgeoning European presence, and the sheer cultural clout of their custom collaborations, LiveWire enters the rest of 2026, setting a blistering pace. Anchored by the versatile S2 platform and teasing the highly anticipated launch of the S4 Honcho™ mini moto, the marque remains fiercely connected to rider culture, creativity, and uncompromised performance.

The electric revolution, it seems, has never looked quite so audacious.
