Czech Republic: Singing in Silesia, Mushing in Moravia

Czech Republic: Singing in Silesia, Mushing in Moravia

Discover excellence off the beaten track in Moravia and Silesia, the little known regions of the Czech Republic.
International eXcellence Magazine went off in search of something different in the Czech Republic, looking for adventure, mountains, history and landscapes. Ryan Air have now started flying direct to Ostrava so it's a quick and easy, if spectacularly uncomfortable  jaunt over Western Europe (it takes skill to make a seat that badly, or is there some deal going on between Chiropracters and Ryan Air we don’t know about!).

Change in the Modern World

Change in the Modern World

Introduction: the prestige of change in the modern world
It is only very recently – on the scale of human history – that change has been the focus of much enthusiasm.
The ancient Greeks and Romans often took the view that the whole world was in decline, each generation of people successively worse than those who had come before. A golden age of harmony and justice had, they felt, existed in the past. So change was negative: a step bringing chaos and ruin closer.

If you're partial to a bit of Hollywood scandal then the situation that has unfolded between numerous Tinsel Town stars, one of the most iconic addresses in Los Angeles, and the strict religious laws currently in place for the people of Brunei is a classic example. Whichever way their cookie crumbles, everyone has something to say on the matter.

Southern Africa offers so much and we wanted an extended journey of indulgence experiencing the best hotels with fining dining and fine wines, but we also wanted some soft  adventure.   This feature covers the soft adventure aspects but there was no compromise necessary on the comfort aspects.

Magnificent Valletta: Phoenicia Hotel and the Malta Arts Festival

Magnificent Valletta: Phoenicia Hotel and the Malta Arts Festival

Valletta, Malta’s capital and arguably the city with the world’s most iconic harbour, is being born again. New bars and restaurants have revitalised the eternally pretty but once staid streets, and major civil projects are transforming the town’s overall aesthetic whilst cleaning up facades in preparation for the impending honour of European Capital of Culture 2018. Despite the somewhat divisive title, in this instance it’s a fitting accolade considering the arts scene is also in rude health, with abundant local talent and significant international events.
