What can one say about the Château de Champs-sur-Marne (www.chateau-champs-sur-marne.fr/en), which was built in a loop in the River Marne and constructed on request from a financier of Louis XIV between 1703 and 1708 by architects Pierre Bullet and Jean-Baptiste Bullet de Chamblain. Sumptuous is one word that springs to mind.

The Land Speed Cruiser made its debut at SEMA, the world’s leading customisation show, in Las Vegas last year. It started life as a standard US-specification Land Cruiser, before being heavily modified by a team of engineers at Toyota’s Motorsports Technical Center (MTC).
Chuck Wade, MTC Manager, said: “The world’s fastest SUV record was at 211mph, which is extremely rapid. Toyota thought ‘why don’t we make a really, ultra-powerful Land Cruiser and just see how fast we can make it go’.”

Oh yes, we are one step closer to the personal flying car. This all electric personal flying vehicle is being made by a US company backed by one of the Google founder Larry Page. It has been tested over a lake north of San Francisco and while it only has a short range it looks pretty fantastic.
It is battery powered and the design is modelled on a drone, with eight blades powering the lift. It actually brings to mind a jetski that can fly for short periods, paired with something Luke Skywalker might have cobbled together as a boy on Tatooine.

Famed for its enviable Mediterranean climate, watersports and its myriad festivals, the Region of Murcia, in southern Spain, is also a haven for history buffs and culture vultures.
