Adventure Bike Rider Festival - It's Coming

Adventure Bike Rider Festival

Adventure Bike Rider Festival

Back in 2009, a magazine was launched called Adventure Bike Rider magazine. It was the brainchild of Alun Davies, ABR Founder and Publisher.

ABR Magazine was perfectly placed to take advantage of the huge, gaping hole in the UK motorcycle media for a magazine that focused on the booming adventure bike sector.

The Festival came about as a kind of evolution of an idea. In the beginning, it was held in random fields near Stratford upon Avon. At most, they had a hundred riders. The early festivals were great times and essentially just a bunch of like-minded bikers and friends getting together for a weekend of riding, kicking tyres, and having a good time. It didn’t matter what bike you had, no one cared if you were a novice or expert or if your adventures had been in the UK or on the Mongolian Steppe. The only requirement was that you enjoyed the weekend.

Over time, the ABR Festival grew organically to the point where they had 500 people turning up. In festival terms, 500 is the magic number as, once you go above that, it gets serious and all manner of local authority rules, regulations, and laws apply requiring a vast amount of paperwork, legal meetings and council committees. This was the turning point, there was no turning back.

A few years later and the ABR festival has gone from strength to strength, blossoming into the world’s greatest celebration of adventure motorcycling.

Held in the stunning grounds of the Ragley Hall Estate, Warwickshire, on the weekend of 28-30 June 2024, the Adventure Bike Rider Festival has been described as like ‘Glastonbury with motorcycles and posh toilets’.

I attended in 2022 and had the best time. The atmosphere was refreshing, it felt like home.

At the ABR festival you will be presented with the best on-site services of any festival in the UK. You’ll find posh toilets cleaned around the clock and plenty of them, and there’ll be a great and varied selection of tasty street food and a very reasonably priced bar. Every major motorcycle manufacturer will be there with one purpose, to let you see and ride their new bikes. There’s an extensive guest speaker line-up to help you get inspired, learn more about two-wheeled adventures and be entertained.

You’ll find the biggest and best adventure motorcycling brands, all in one place, over 50 mouth-watering street food stalls, seven large bars serving everything from local brews to sumptuous cocktails and a great, friendly atmosphere and one of the coolest features of the festival, over 40km of uninterrupted trails.
