The Montroc Kevlar PrimaLoft 3IN1+ Adventure Jacket: Performance for Every Season
The new-for-2025 Furygan Montroc is a versatile three-in-one adventure jacket designed to conquer changing weather conditions without compromising protection.
Montroc's core strength is its modular design.
For waterproofing, the Montroc features an In&Out Humax 10K Membrane: This removable, waterproof and breathable liner can be worn either under or over the outer shell, adapting quickly to sudden downpours. Humax is an advanced textile composite with a polyurethane resin coating that is highly responsive to weather changes.
For warmth, Furygan has added a PrimaLoft Black Thermal Liner: A removable, lightweight synthetic insulation layer. Originally engineered for the U.S. Army, PrimaLoft uses ultra-fine microfibers to create air pockets that effectively trap heat, providing warmth even when wet.
Together, these liners contribute to the jacket's impressive technical performance rating of 10k/15k.
Advanced Durability and Safety:
The outer shell is constructed using a robust blend of Kevlar fibre and Ripstop fabric. Ripstop, utilised across military and aerospace applications, features a reinforced mesh that ensures strength and is designed to stop tears from spreading.
Safety Features and Protection:
The Montroc has standard CE Level 2 D3O protectors fitted at the shoulders and elbows, helping the jacket achieve an excellent AA protection rating. D3O is a smart, non-Newtonian material that remains soft and flexible but instantly locks rigid upon impact to absorb and dissipate energy. Pockets are included for fitting optional Furygan D3O back and chest protectors.
Numerous reflective inserts are integrated to enhance your visibility during low-light conditions.
For warm weather riding, the AFS (Air Flow System Max) ventilation is highly effective. Large zipped vents on the sleeves, chest, and back open up to reveal mesh panels, delivering high levels of direct airflow.
Practical Features and Real-World Use:
The Montroc is designed for utility and comfort. It offers a total of seven pockets: five outside, including a dedicated credit card pocket, and two inside, one of which is an easy-to-access waterproof inner pocket ideal for personal items.
By removing both liners and opening the vents, it functions as a highly protective summer jacket. With all liners installed, it delivers reliable winter protection.
The jacket is available in black or a striking black/grey/red combination, in sizes from S to 4XL.

When the temperatures dip, an integral removable thermal liner provides essential warmth.
The exterior is constructed from heavy-duty polyester outer fabric, providing robust durability. For impact safety, the trousers come fitted with trusted D3O protectors at both the hip and knees.
The combination of these features earns the Killington trousers a strong performance rating of 10k/15k.
Furygan has designed the Killington with the rider's comfort in mind, incorporating several key features. They are engineered for comfort and fit
Furygan Killington trousers have numerous stretch zones. They are utilised between the legs, above the knees, and at the seat. This use of stretchable material ensures a better fit and enhanced comfort across various body types and movements.
The comfortable, straight cut is tailored to accommodate most riders, allowing for easy, unrestricted movement, and there is an adjustable opening at the bottom of the legs that facilitates effortless fitting over your riding boots.
The Killington trousers also benefit from Furygan's AFS (Air Flow System Max) ventilation. This integrated system is designed to create and channel airflow into the garment, providing effective cooling.
For added convenience, the trousers include detachable shoulder straps, waist adjuster tabs, and three practical pockets.
The Killington trousers are designed with the same high standards for all riders and are also available in a dedicated women's cut.
Our Field-Tested Verdict: Montroc and Killington Performance
We’ve put the Montroc jacket and Killington trousers through a gruelling test across 2025, from the heat of summer to the chill of late autumn, and the combination performed almost faultlessly.
This gear handled a complete range of conditions, from sweltering 30+ degree days to heavy rain, single-digit temperatures, and strong autumn winds, without missing a beat.
In the peak of summer heat, while attending a slide school, the modular design was indispensable. By opening all the AFS vents and removing both liners, we were able to manage a full day, remaining comfortable and completely protected, despite the challenging temperatures.
As summer transitioned to autumn and temperatures plunged, we simply zipped the liners back into place. This configuration kept us perfectly dry and warm against the cold and persistent rain, proving the system's true four-season capability.
The only hiccup encountered was, admittedly, self-inflicted:
A Crucial Note on Waterproofing: To ensure the absolute best protection during heavy rain, you must be meticulous. It is vital to ensure that all zips and storm flaps are securely and completely closed—a small detail we learned to our discomfort!
