As the Coronavirus continues to spread rapidly at the time of writing mid this March, the full scale of the risk to the global economy has hit markets with rarely seen violence. The speed of the sell-off in equities and “risky” asset classes has only been matched by the rise in price of safe haven assets such as U.S. government bonds (Treasuries) or gold.
Now cash has suddenly become King and riskier asset classes shunned - at least for now. Who would have thought this just a few months ago? We certainly live in volatile and risky times.

There’s a good reason Michael owns this car but we'll get to that.

If you've had the chance to visit the wonderful Tutankhamun treasures on show at the Saatchi Gallery in London (until 03 May) you may well have been inspired to consider a trip to Egypt. Cairo is one of the world's most fascinating cities and the Red Sea resorts of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada are popular for wintersun and diving but a cruise on the magnificent Nile river, the lifeblood of the entire country is the trump travel card. I visited Oman when the country was still in its forty days of mourning- the much loved Sultan Qaboos bin Said had passed away, and the country was sombre. However, it didn’t affect the stunning scenery, and vistas which dominate the southeastern coast of Western Asia.

I recently received an invitation to join the real-life rescue rangers on a muddy play date just outside Northamptonshire.
The purpose of the day was a team-building exercise for some awesome people who work in and around Northamptonshire, keeping us all safe. 
In attendance were the Rural Crime Team, Lowland Search and Rescue Northamptonshire, Northants Serious Collision Investigation Unit, the Safer Roads Team of Traffic Cops and even the new Chief Constable for Northamptonshire Police.

Following his experience restoring a client’s John Harrison clock, Surrey-based specialist clockmaker Matthew King has created what is believed to be the first ever replica of the earliest Harrison wooden clock, originally produced in 1713 by John Harrison, who later succeeded in solving the problem of calculating longitude while at sea.
To make the clock replica, self-taught clockmaker Matthew had no guides or instructions, but instead took much of his direction from the original Harrison clocks and his own research. The project was a true exploration of Matthew’s passion.

Having been a professional make-up artist for more than 20 years, I’ve worked on countless editorials.
