Da Mhile 20-Year-Old Grain Whisky

David's Drink Diaries - Issue 5

As you might expect, this time of year is pretty busy for all drink writers, and I for one have a desk of samples to taste through. This seems to pale into insignicance though compared to the sheer amount of Whisky Cask investment firms adverts I am being fed on social media. I urge you to avoid these and the promises of great returns unless you have specialist expertise. It is not regulated, casks are often vastly overpriced and you may not even own the cask you think you have bought. Buyer beware.

Throughout the ages, watchmakers and artists have collaborated to create exquisite timepieces that transcend mere functionality and become works of art. However, some artists have taken this collaboration a step further by directly incorporating their creativity onto watch canvases. The convergence of fine art and watchmaking has led to the emergence of unique timepieces that serve not only as accurate timekeepers but also as miniature masterpieces.

La Coquillade Pool Suite

La Coquillade Hotel/Resort Provence Review

Still wearing his lid and his thigh muscles glistening impressively under the Provencal sunshine, Romain pointed to all points of the compass and indulged in some proudly Gallic long-distance celebrity spotting.

“You’ve got Russell Crowe over there and John Malkovich that way.  That's where Richard Mayle used to live. Ridley Scott has a place in Bonnieux and Pierre Cardin owns most of Lacoste, including the chateau which was the Marquis de Sade’s old home.”

Strictly Ballroom The Musical Review Kevin Clifton & Maisie Smith

Strictly Ballroom The Musical Review

An eye catching, flamboyant set greeted us as we entered the auditorium at G Live and set the scene for a wonderfully camp, kitsch show. The glittery, excitable audience buzzed as the lights dimmed and we were taken back to Baz Luhrmann’s 1992 film and the drama surrounding Scott Hastings (Kevin Clifton) and his new dance partner Fran (Maisie Smith).
